Labour bloodletting - coming soon...

First the defeat. Now the civil war.

Labour have a problem. They lost in May on paradoxically quite a good election performance. They beat expectations and held 46 of their 50 MSPs.

Personally I'd love Jack McConnell to continue. He's bland. It's also not as if they're really rolling suitable candidates. Andy Kerr and Margaret Curran are just as bland. Wendy Alexander has a bit of va-va-voom at least, even if she does also have all the subtlety of a cruise missile. Iain Gray would be a choice that ticked a lot of boxes, but he's been out of it for four years since he lost Edinburgh South and I hope he won't be able to come back so soon.

With all their ambitious types eyeing Westminster Labour have a real talent problem at Holyrood that is only going to keep growing. Poor Labour.
